ExaTape JukeBox is a tape jukebox for Workstation Solutions' ExaTape.It provides semirandom online access to 126 GB of user data using aninterchangeable carousel with a 54-tape capacity. ExTape JukeBox usesthe SCSI controller to provide sustained data rates, up to .25 MB persecond, and a serial I/O port to control tape selection.ExaTape JukeBox employs advanced helical scan technology to store up to2.3 GB on a single 8mm tape cartridge. Error detection and correction areprovided using on-board error correction code (ECC), read-after-write andautomatic rewrite. This results in a nonrecoverable error rate of lessthan one bit for every 1250 GB of data.When combined with Workstation Solutions' The Backup Solution, ExaTapeJukeBox provides unattended back up of up to 126 GB of data. It includesan ExaTape tape transport, a 54-tape carousel in a 19-inch table-top orrack-mountable cabinet, tape selection software, a SCSI host adapter andcable, a SIO cable and driver software.
